Categories and collections | Application Cantook

The application offers several ways to manage your personal library and the publications that have been added to it.

Although publishers often add specific categories and collections to their publications' metadata, the application lets you classify your books using custom categories and collections.

Using categories

Categories are ideal for grouping your publications by literary genre, for example: historical fiction, crime fiction, science fiction, etc.

Editing categories

Go to the Home or My books section of the application.
Long press on the cover image of the desired publication.
Click on Categories.
Press Edit categories.
Select / deselect the desired categories.
Press on Apply.

Creating a new category

Android

Go to the My books section of the application.
Select the Categories tab at the top of the screen.
Press the + at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the desired name for the new category.
Press on Save.

iOS

Go to the My books section of the application.
Press the triangle icon at the top of the screen.
Select Categories.
Press the Add category button at the bottom of the menu.
Enter the desired name for the new category.
Press on Save.

Using collections

Collections are useful for organizing your personal library and categorizing your publications according to custom or short-term criteria, such as “Summer reading”, “Environment” or “Favorite essays”.

Editing collections

Go to the Home or My books section of the application.
Long press on the cover image of the desired publication.
Press on Collections.
To add or remove a collection, press Edit collections.
Select / deselect the desired collections.
Press Apply.

Creating a new collection

Android

Go to the My books section of the application.
Select the Collections tab at the top of the screen.
Press the + at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the desired name for the new collection.
Press on Save.

iOS

Go to the My books section of the application.
Press the triangle icon at the top of the screen.
Press on Collections.
Press Add a collection at the bottom of the menu.
Enter the desired name for the new collection.
Press on Save.

When creating a new category or collection, the Sort as option lets you add keywords to facilitate sorting and searching in collections and categories.
